It is with heartfelt gratitude that I say thank you family, friends and neighbors for your tremendous support and encouragement during my campaign for State Tax Commissioner. It has been my honor to serve in this way.
I was asked for my RESUME, so here's what I could fit on one page.
WHAT I FELT WAS IMPORTANT DURING THE CAMPAIGN...................
If elected, responding to citizens' concerns will be my number one priority. I'm a firm believer in taking on issues and working for a fair and just solution. I have been active in local and statewide organizations all of my adult life and in every facet of my career, I have been entrusted with responsibilities that make me well qualified for this job. I'm not comfortable on the sidelines. If something needs to be done, I'm there to pitch in. I want to carry that forward as your next Tax Commissioner.
Trust is earned. We trust that when we pay our taxes that they serve to make our communities and our state a better place to live, work and bring up our children. But as taxpayers, we also need to be able to trust that the office of Tax Commissioner is working FOR the people.... ensuring fairness and bringing leadership. Unless taxpayers believe that the tax system is fair, they will not trust its administration. Trust in the system requires transparency and action on the part of the Tax Commissioner to advocate for change when and where it is necessary.
I'm running for Tax Commissioner because I believe I will bring TRUST and ACTIVE LEADERSHIP to the office.
I have the leadership skills necessary to resolve problems. I will take the initiative to work with others to help prevent needless problems from arising. I will promote tax fairness, ensuring that the property assessment process is fair and well understood, and I will work with the legislature to ensure property tax relief can be sustained.
I will be tireless in my efforts to collect taxes from out-of-state interests to pay what they owe, efficiently, fairly, and in keeping with our laws.
These are but a few of the issues important in this campaign. And, I know they are important to you as well. We need a Tax Commissioner who is an advocate for ALL North Dakotans. I believe I can be that person. With your help.... we can restore LEADERSHIP YOU CAN TRUST in the Office of Tax Commissioner.
